The Greenville Arts Council is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charitable organization located in Greenville, Mississippi. The mission of the Greenville Arts Council is to promote the rich cultural heritage of the region and stimulate and encourage cultural activities, arts appreciation, arts education, and the creative works of artists. The Greenville Arts Council is the primary promoter of the arts in the Greenville, Mississippi community and accomplishes its mission by teaching art classes to children and adults, organizing community events, presenting an ongoing series of free exhibits featuring visual artists from the area and the state, and coordinating educational programs, which teaches arts-integration method in our local schools.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Program & Arts in Education Coordinator position encompasses two distinct responsibilities: 1) this position oversees all Arts in Education programming, which includes curriculum development and professional development with the Greenville Arts Partnership (GAP). The job responsibilities stem from the educational portion of the mission of the Greenville Arts Council (i.e., to promote the rich cultural heritage of the region and stimulate and encourage cultural activities, arts appreciation, arts education, and the creative works of artists). As such, the Program & Arts in Education Coordinator develops and implements arts integration-related professional development for teachers and works directly with students and other groups through arts experiences. This also includes overseeing all arts experiences taking place in the E.E. Bass Cultural Arts Center, which includes summer art camp, fall and spring classes, and workshops.
2) The Program & Arts in Education Coordinator will assume all Event Coordinator responsibilities associated with the planning and execution of all events being held and hosted within E. E. Bass Cultural Arts Center. The planning responsibilities include coordinating and securing appropriate dates and times, securing and managing all volunteer staff needed for execution, and overseeing all logistics throughout the execution process. The position oversees all current event programming (e.g., gallery openings, Art Til Dark, Christmas Market, Halloween Carnival, Blues & Brews, Cocktails at the Carousel, Greenville Honors Its Own, and Summer Literary Series) as well as additional arts-integration professional development.
This is a full-time position that manages the duties associated with Arts in Education and Program Coordination for the Greenville Arts Council.
