The Greenville Arts Council is proud to announce our partnership with photographers Phyllis Dooney and Jakob Layman and their project, “PopUp Greenville”. Portraits from the exhibition “PopUp Greenville” will be on display at the Greenville Arts Council’s Roger D. Malkin Gallery at E.E. Bass (Greenville, MS) from Sept 25 – Dec 31, 2015, with an opening reception on October 17, from 5-8! The show features varied encounters—a collection of impromptu portraits—that maps Layman’s and Dooney’s journey there as photographers. The strategy of Pop-up Greenville is twofold: to illuminate the documentary process itself and to create a collective portrait of the city. The collection speaks to Greenville’s humanity; this city exemplifies a diverse and eclectic continuum of people, like America at large.
