It’s time to gear up for our annual student invitational, open to all Washington County students! The Greenville Arts Council is now calling all Washington County student artists in grades pre-kindergarten through twelve to enter the Fifth Annual Student Invitational Exhibition. The exhibit will be held at the E.E. Bass Cultural Arts Center from Friday, April 10, 2015 through May 1, 2015 and will be open to the public during building hours Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Dr. Janice Neill Dean, artist and president of the Delta Artists Association, will juror the exhibition and will present several awards in different categories. Dean is known primarily for her botanical and natural science illustrations. She graduated from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Bachelor of English, and from Delta State University with a Doctorate in Education. Her paintings can be seen at Montage Marketplace in Greenville and Spectacles Gallery in Jackson, MS. Artworks of all mediums including but not limited to paintings, original prints, drawings, graphics, photographs, ceramics and sculptures may be entered. Student artists may only submit one piece of artwork unless the students are participating in a group project, in which case they may submit an individual piece to be considered as well. Drop-off entries may be made in-person to the Greenville Arts Council no later than April 6 at 4 p.m. with the entry form attached.
