Did you know the Greenville Arts Council is devoted to providing arts experiences for students and educators? The Arts Council partners with school districts to provide Arts Based Professional Development and resources that integrate the arts into their classroom learning environment.

What is the Greenville Arts Partnership?

The Greenville Arts Partnership is a collaboration between the Greenville Arts Council, Washington County Public School Districts and our three community arts partners, Delta Center Stage, Delta Symphony Association and the Delta Children’s Museum, focused on full arts integration in elementary schools. The partnership was the first in the state of Mississippi accepted into the Kennedy Center Partners in Education Program in 2003, joining over 100 other partnerships between school districts and arts organizations across the country. As a member of the Kennedy Center Partner In Education, members of the Greenville Arts Partnership attend an Annual Meeting, and have access to high-quality professional development, current research in arts education and integration.

What does the Greenville Arts Partnership offer?

Arts Based Professional Development and Arts Experiences

The Greenville Arts Partnership (GAP) meets with each grade of  educators to provide Arts Based Professional Development and resources to assist with integrating the experience into their classroom learning environments. GAP takes special care to point out connections to specific competencies with the lessons outlined in each packet, and though the lessons are directed at a specific grade level, we are happy to work with educators to redesign the programs to better fit the needs of different grade levels.
