Greenville Arts Partnership

We’re kickin’ off the new year…

…with a family literacy programs with our partnership schools! This spring we are piloting the second phase of the GAC Youth Literacy Program funded through a grant through Kings Daughters and Son’s Circle #2. The grant is making it possible for us to implement an early childhood reading program modeled after our experience with the Family Reading Bonds program that through the Mississippi Humanities Council. This week we are starting the four-week program at Trigg Elementary School!

GAC Youth Literacy

We have 20 students and their families ready to read with our amazing volunteers Lara Pflum and Garrett Hedman, who will guide them through storytelling, literary discussion and arts based activities each week. This program has received additional funding support from Dollar General and the Trigg Elementary School PTO – we are so thankful for their generosity and support of our programming!

Check our Greenville Arts Partnership blog over the next few weeks to see pictures and video clips of the program. Want to learn more? Contact Megan Hines via email at mhines@greenville-arts-council.com or by calling the office at 662.332.2246.
