On Wednesday April 18, 2012, Angela Eustache, Arts in Education VISTA of the Greenville Arts Council, visited the Boys & Girls Club of Washington County to discuss the importance of volunteering in honor of National Volunteer Appreciation Week 2012.
“Volunteering helps to build good character and selflessness, which are essential qualities to have in a world that needs so much help”, says Eustache. “Having the children express their thanks to those who help their community allows them to start thinking of others and appreciate those who give their time for someone else’s good.”
Eustache read Stone Soup to the children and then had the children to create thank you drawings for the food pantry volunteers at the St. Vincent De Paul Society after discussing the importance of helping others.
