Movie Screening Walker Percy: A Documentary Film
Thursday, September 1, 6:30 p.m., Jake and Freda Stein Auditorium
Win Riley, in his film Walker Percy: A Documentary, tells the story of Percy’s life with archival film, excerpts from Percy’s work, and interviews with family, friends and scholars. Join the Greenville Arts Council in Jake and Freda Stein Hall for a night at the movies. Following the documentary will be a personal reflection of Walker Percy’s life given by his nephew, Billy Percy. $10 admission, unlimited popcorn and sodas, other drinks will be available for purchase.

Stephanie Artz’s Professional Development for Educators
Saturday, September 10, 8:00 am-3:00 pm, Melissa Manning Elementary School
Stephanie Artz was a ballet dancer in the Ballet Arts Ensemble in Nashua, New Hampshire from 1979-1984. She offers classes for K-12 in dance, movement, partnering, and authentic movement tied to curriculum in history and mathematics. Ms. Artz will be working with K-6th grade educators to demonstrate a variety of approaches on how to integrate dance and movement into the Mississippi State Frameworks for Math and Social Sciences. Open to all Pre-K-6 educators, FREE for WSLD and GPSD teachers, $60 for the general public. 0.6 CEU credits are available from Delta State University.
