The Greenville Arts Council will begin their gallery calendar with an event that features three Greenville natives; Katie Byrd, Elizabeth Barenis, and Shelby Nunnery. Though all three women are from the Greenville area, their use of mediums is very unique. Gallery openings are free events and open to the public. Artwork will be available for purchase.
Teacher Predators Preview Party

Join the Delta Children's Museum and the Greenville Arts Partnership for a Teacher Preview Party of the new exhibit "Predators" that will be housed at the Greenville Mall beginning January 15th. Guests will get behind the scenes tour to see how this traveling exhibit can enhance the classroom setting as a field trip opportunity. Betty Coleman, the exhibit Director, will be on site to answer questions and schedule field trips.
MAAE Teaching Artist Workshop

The
.Greenville Arts Council will be hosting the Mississippi Alliance for Arts Education's one-day workshop to prepare for their professional development requirements to join the Mississippi Arts Commission's Teaching Artist Roster. Althea Jerome, winner of the 2012 Mississippi Governor's Award for Arts in Education will lead the session as participants are introduced to essential information to work in a Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade school setting. 3rd Annual Grapes in the Gallery

The Greenville Arts Council hosts their Annual Winter Wine Tasting in the Roger D. Malkin Gallery. Learn the art of wine tasting. Patrons will discover how to differentiate wines using sight, smell and taste. Space is limited and reservations required.
GAC Members $40, Non GAC Members $45 (Friends of GAC/Business/Patrons of GAC Members free- must still reserve a spot).
Brent Sisters in Concert

Spend Mardi Gras at Bass with the Greenville Arts Council! All three Brent Sisters, Jessica, Eden and Bronwynne Brent will be in concert to help us celebrate. Tickets are $10 and drinks will be available for purchase.
"Separate but Equal" Documentary Movie Screening

The Greenville Arts Council with special support from Mayor Chuck Jordan present the documentary by Greenvillian Shawn Wilson featuring life in Greenville during the 50’s. Separate but Equal has been selected by the Smithsonian Institute as part of its permanent collection in the National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington DC. Greenville Honors Its Own

The Greenville Arts Council celebrates 29 years of art by honoring local community members for their contributions to the arts and the community. Master of ceremonies will be Greenville born comedian Claude Stuart, who currently resides in Los Angeles and has appeared on The Tonight Show and Comics Unleashed. Event sponsorships available. 2nd Annual Student Exhibit Opening

Join us for the opening reception of the annual student art show. Artwork will fill the halls of Bass and awards will be given. Make Art Not War! Kim Guthrie

Prepare yourself to have fun! This exhibit allows Kim to be free and unhindered by artistic traditions, stigmas or mediums. For 27 years, Kim Guthrie created murals for clients with specific tastes and requirements. While those opportunities made it possible for her to make a living as an artist, she was hindered somewhat creatively. So now, look out, it’s all about experimentation and freedom! This exhibit it filled with a variety of installations, mixed media pieces, and paintings. Art will be available for purchase.
BEATS AT BASS: Jason Fratesi and the Dirt Road Jam Band

Come on down to BASS and join the Greenville Arts Council, Delta Symphony Association, and Delta Children’s Museum for our annual spring concert by Jason Fratesi and the Dirt Road Jam Band on the E.E. Bass front lawn. Free to the public and families and we encourage the community to attend.
Bottles and Brushes Night *New Date

Need a night out? Come paint the town with local art teacher Ms. Tracy Norell! This is a great excuse for a girl’s night, a fun date night with your significant other, or a fun evening with a friend. No experience needed. Sign up, show up, sip and paint. We will supply all painting materials and wine. Feel free to bring your own snacks!
